Delyth & Michael

It was lovely to meet up with Delyth and Michael for their engagement shoot at the Rhigos Mountain in the Rhondda Valley. Having been a friend of both for so long i’m very excited for their upcoming wedding on September 16th 2017 at Rose Dew Farm in Llantwit Major.

Upon arriving up the Rhigos, in typical Welsh style, the weather changed instantly with fog, but in my opinion this really helped to make the images look slightly different and give them a nice mood to the background. Of course, we can’t expect nice weather in August on a mountain in the valleys in Wales can we??

Thank you both for choosing myself to capture your wedding day in a few weeks time, i really can’t wait!

Mr & Mrs Bates

Saturday 29th July was a beautiful occasion for the newlyweds, Beverley and Daniel.
The couple got married at the beautiful Rhondda church, St Peters before moving onto the bwlch mountain for pictures.
Upon arriving early in the morning, I knew it was going to be a fun filled day. Beverley was very relaxed surrounded by her bridesmaids, although their healthy obsession with pringles was clear to see haha!
At the church, I met a very nervous Groom, looking very smart in his grey suit. You could see the emotion on his face waiting in anticipation to see his stunning bride.
I think everyone gets a bit emotional on their wedding day, it's surprising how much it just hits you when you prepare for your big day.

I really hope the bride and groom enjoyed their day, it was an honour to work for them throughout the day and photograph their special day!

I wish you both all the best!

Mr & Mrs Bundy

Emma and Andrew Bundy got married on Saturday 3rd of June 2017 at the picturesque church in Pentre, St Peters Parish Church.

During the morning period, little rain showers couldn’t dampen the spirits of the couple as they both were eager to get the ceremony underway.

Emma left her home, in Treorchy, in a stretch limo which included a little tour of upper Rhondda before heading to the church, while Andrew arrived in style in a Ford Cortina. His passion for cars was the catalyst for this decision.

Upon having a beautiful wedding ceremony the couple travelled to their wedding reception venue. As the weather was glorious for us in the early evening, we were able to utilise the gorgeous scenery at The Bwlch Mountain in the Rhondda.

I think you’ll all agree with me in saying how wonderful end elegant the bride looked in her dress and how handsome the groom looked in his suit.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Bundy! I wish you well for the future.

Mr & Mrs Faulkner

On Saturday 6th August, Rachael Morgan married her best friend and true love Dai Faulkner.

I have to admit I totally loved this wedding from the start of the early morning conversations with the bridesmaids. Stacey, Stacie, Katie, Linzi and Kacey were fantastic company and made me feel real welcome and had a giggle with me all throughout the day. I’ll leave the ham and cheese toastie pictures for another day ;).

As they helped the beautiful bride get ready, it took all the bridesmaids to tie up Rachael’s dress. Team work done to perfection.

Rachael and Dai got married at the Norman church in Porthcawl. With the weather on the couples side it was always going to be a great day.

With group shots taken in front of the church, it was time to head back towards the Rhondda, where the couple live, and enjoy their evening.

Dai, who had 4 best men on the day, had a fantastic send off from them in their speeches, having the bride & groom in floods of laughter. Even though there was a few nerves with some of the best men, each and everyone one of them pulled it off, well done lads.

After the speeches were made, Dai performed a lovely solo song, Stevie Wonder – Knocks Me Off My Feet, on Piano which made his new wife emotional and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

You may recognise pictures of Dai Faulkner from the BBC talent show, The Voice. He wowed the judges, Danny O’Donoughe, Jessie J, Will.I.Am and Wales’ finest, Tom Jones on the show.

The couple finished off their photographs at Glyn Cornell lake.

I wish Dai and Rachael, Mr & Mrs Faulkner, a very happy life together with their children.

Congratulations and thank you for using Into The Heart Photography

Portrait Fun With Oliver, Xander, Lillie & Seren

On November 1st 2015, I got the pleasure of photographing Oliver & Xander who are brothers and their cousins, Lillie & Seren. I’ve been waiting to post these images for a while, but as they’ve been used for Xmas presents, at Into The Heart we have had to wait patiently.

These are beautiful portraits taken in Gelli Park on a lovely November day set in a picturesque Autumn setting.

As the leaves this time of year have fallen to the ground, and the trees are also rather bare, it really does help with the beautiful colours this time of year provides.

The children were adorable together and had some great fun throwing leaves around (mainly at each other haha) and getting muddy. Seeing the excitement on their faces playing was always going to come shining through in the pictures.

I hope you like these images as much as I do, and it’s lovely to think that these have been used as presents for people.

Happy new year all!

Engagement Shoot In Perfect Autumn Setting

I was very lucky on Sunday 1st November to do an engagement shoot in Glyn Cornell Lake, Rhondda valley.

The sunshine was beaming from the sky, the autumn leaves had fallen to the ground and Gerrard & Joanne were ready for some fun!

I’m going to be photographing this lovely couple at their wedding in July 2016 at Court Colman in Bridgend. I’m very much excited for this one. If the engagement shoot is anything to go by, I think we’re all in for a cracking day and night.

They also turned their engagement shoot into a family portrait session with their delightful little boy, Harvey. Cute is an understatement…

Thank you Gerrard & Joanne for a superb afternoon, very much looking forward to July next year for your wedding

Coleg Y Cymoedd Students Causing Some Right Drama

I had such a wonderful evening on Wednesday 14th Ocotber. The BTEC Performing Arts groups from Coleg Y Cymoedd are preparing to launch a new website and things are certainly on the rise for this fantastic group of students.

Based at Llwynypia Rhondda College, the students are preparing for the Shakespeare’s School Festival. I was asked to attend to get some snaps and do profile shots for them. I can honestly say that they had me laughing from head to toe all evening!

If ever you want great images of people posing, you should use this lovely bunch. Never miss a photo opportunity!

You can more about them on their Twitter page Perform Arts Rhondda Campus.

It’s The Groomsmen Time To Shine

On Saturday 26th September 2015, I got asked to cover the Grooms morning before he headed off to Llechwen Hall, Pontypridd.

Lee Scott, local goalkeeping hero for Ynyshir Albions, was preparing to marry his sweetheart, Bethan Morgan, who was getting herself ready for the big day at the venue.

It started out with some very nervous groomsmen, even though they were convinced they were OK, I’d like to think the pictures tell a different story.

Bethan prepared a lovely book of special memories for Lee, in which the groom had to hold back his tears, and she also picked out a beautiful watch, the message attached was very much to the point but emotional which read “Here’s to make sure you get here on time”.

It was Lee’s best man who seemed the more nervous as the morning was going on however, pacing up and down as you’d expect a best man to do given the fact he has to perform his speech to perfection!  Lee even had to dress him, surely this should be the other way around??

I think the real winner here was the dad who was cool, calm and sensible

These nerves soon left the lads once they were located to the nearby Gelli Park for some pictures outdoors. Plenty comments were made of how much they looked like a boy band

And of course, you can’t leave a park without having a play surely?

It was the next part though that really entertained me, these words actually came out of the grooms mouth….”The Camera Loves Me”, how true he was with this BOLD statement, nailed the shots first time

Getting the boys to walk in a line proved entertaining also, asking them to all look different ways, they all turned the same way except Scott Jones, the amount that he didn’t care is clear to see! Good move Scott, actually makes the picture look staged

And after my comment of “you all looked the same way” laughter broke out, this is probably my favourite picture of the year, the reason for this is it shows the boys character and how close they all are. Well done lads!

I’d like to wish Lee & Bethan, Mr & Mrs Scott a happy wedding day and a bright future together

It’s A Blue Day For Mr & Mrs Hicks, But Not As You Know It!

Just a short drive off the M4 at junction 34 is the beautiful picturesque Miskin Manor, set in 25 acres of pure bliss and beautifully well manicured gardens. This was the perfect set up for the newly weds, Gavin & Laura.

The sun was shining on 27/6/15 as the guests enjoyed their beverages outside on the beautiful lawn terrace.

The couple had a fantastic day surrounded by their loved ones. There was plenty of time to enjoy the wedding, relax with friends and even give some of the dads the chance to play football…that’s right, football!

As the title states, it was a blue day. But not in the down beat kind of way. The groom was a big Chelsea FC fan and named all the tables after his heroes in the famous Blue of Chelsea FC. Even Jose Mourinho was a guest….ok, all beit as a cardboard cut out.

This pretty much sums up the day. There was plenty of fun things to keep people entertained! A massive surprise to the wedding guests was when food had finished being served, the waiters starting to sing. Singing waiters has started to become a trend now at weddings.

The transition from the day into the evening was fantastic as guests were clearly in good spirits sharing with the bride and groom.

A beautiful moment of the night was for Laura, the beautiful bride, having her cousin David to sing the newly weds first dance. They opted for a well known Disney song, but one that I’ve never come across as a first dance….Kiss The Girl from The Little Mermaid.

Laura and Gavin had a superb cheer from their first dance, that led straight into the evenings entertainment in the form of Jukebox Covers Band who got the room feeling energised and fresh with their versatile set list.

Kickin straight off with One Directions hit “What Makes You Beautiful”

The day was beautifully arranged and I’d like to wish Laura & Gavin, Mr & Mrs Hicks a wonderful honeymoon and best wishes for the rest of their lives
